Colonel Wilkerson
TRUTH MATTERS!
***************************************************************
Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, the former Chief of Staff to General Colin Powell, appeared on The Ed Show Friday night, where he responded to Romney surrogate John Sununu's recent remark that Powell's endorsement of the President may be based on race.
In reply, Wilkerson had strong words about the role race plays in his own party's views on the President:
RELATED: John Sununu On CNN: Obama's Race May Have Influenced Colin Powell To Endorse Him
"Let me just be candid: My party is full of racists. And the real reason a considerable portion of my party wants President Obama out of the White House has nothing to do with the content of his character, nothing to do with his competence as Commander in Chief and President, and everything to do with the color of his skin. And that's despicable." -- Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson

Thank you Colonel Wilkerson, for saying what needed to be said and for speaking the truth...Finally.
And in the spirit of honesty and bringing this nation together during our current financial crisis, I will do some truth telling of my own.
It's not easy, but I have to admit, there are a few Republicans that I like and respect.

Colin Powell
A FEW REPUBLICANS I LIKE AND RESPECT:
- Former Secretary of State, Colin Powell
- Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson

Colonel Wilkerson
- Former Utah Govenor, Jon Huntsman
- Sen. Dick Lugar

Jon Huntsman
- Sen. Arlen Specter
- Sen. Olympia Snowe
- Sen. Nancy Kassebaum

Dick Lugar

- Former Florida Governor, Charlie Crist

Arlen Specter

Olympia Snowe

Nancy Kassebaum

And there you have it. A little honesty and respect for those with the strength and vision to see beyond party lines. In this time of great crisis, I call on all Americans to put aside petty things and to come together in the spirit of cooperation in order to quickly proceed down the path to recovery. After all, there are some things we must always hold above politics.
